Lived Experience Leadership Award

Award Description:
This award honors an individual who has transformed their personal lived experience into a powerful force for positive change within the community. Through advocacy, mentorship and leadership, they have used their journey to inspire, empower and uplift others. Their resilience and dedication drive meaningful solutions, foster understanding and create a lasting impact on those they serve.

Eligibility:
Nominees must have direct lived experience relevant to their advocacy and leadership efforts. They should actively contribute to improving community support, policy change or service delivery through their unique insights and firsthand knowledge.

Selection Criteria:
Nominees will be evaluated based on the following:

1. Transforming Lived Experience into Action – Effectively uses their personal experiences to drive meaningful change, shape solutions and support others facing similar challenges.

2. Advocacy & Leadership – Champions important issues, raises awareness and works to improve policies, services, or community support systems.

3. Mentorship & Empowerment – Inspires and guides others by sharing knowledge, providing support and fostering personal and community growth.

4. Innovation & Problem-Solving – Develops creative approaches to address barriers, improve systems or create new opportunities for those in need.

5. Lasting Community Impact – Demonstrates a sustained commitment to making a difference, with tangible results that enhance the well-being of individuals and communities.

The award will be officially presented at the 2025 Housing Symposium on May 7, 2025.
